Spirit of Ramadhan at Bengawan Restaurant, Keraton The Plaza

Bengawan Restaurant at Keraton at the Plaza is celebrating the Ramadhan season with their "Spirit of Ramadhan" promotion that's now ongoing along Ramadhan and fortunate enough, I got the chance to try out some of their festive menus!

The highlighted menu started from the local to International cuisine like Japanese, Mexican and Arabian, the range was pretty decent and the menu that we got to choose was quite various, even better, since Bengawan restaurant is a buffet restaurant, so yes, all you can eat! There were several areas with "open kitchen" concept so you can be more convinced of the freshness of the cuisine!

The local station, I really enjoyed the Soto Bandung and Kikil!

The salad station as well as few cold condiments for you to browse.

The noodle station. Fresh searing hot noodle soup with all you can pick condiments, I like mine with... everything!
Beef meatballs!
Beef
Chicken, and yes I mix everything!
ARABIAN STATION!
Loving this grilled chicken, it was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Something you shouldn't miss off the buffet!
For the Arabian station, they're rotating the meat used on each day and it's either chicken, beef or lamb. I tried the Lentil soup and it was quite good but I like mine with a little hint of pepper to live up the flavor!

Cheese Sanbousek
Wasn't so convinced about trying this one because I saw the cheese on top but eventually tried a little, this was actually pretty good! The cheese stick on the pastry skin and the saltiness of the cheese actually added a little excitement :).

MEXICAN STATION
If I have to pick, then the Mexican station could be my most favorite one! Not only because I love Mexican food and I found Japanese station to be a little mainstream, it's also because of the flavor and the quality that I experienced, the Taco was great with generous filling and the Quesadilla was also memorable! They're rotating the filling when it comes to their Quesadilla, and there are three possible options: beef, chicken and lamb.

DESSERT STATION!
Look at them cakes!

CHEESE STATION! Definitely ones I wouldn't touch but okay to take pictures with.

For the dessert, some of the highlighted menus and personally recommended by me are Baklava, Umm Ali (with that porridge and polenta like texture), Petifier (some kind of apple tart) and Balousha (pannacotta like texture with a glaze of sourness), but not only that, they actually have more selections of dessert starting from local to international desserts and ice cream, unfortunately the ice cream wasn't available on my visit.

How about the pricing? Each person will be charged IDR 350k++ and to me, it was quite worth it remembering how premium the ingredients they're using.

The dinner was awesome and I enjoyed the cuisine offered to me. It's still a few days left to the HOLY EID and fasting season and if you want to experience the scrumptious cuisine like I did, place your booking to the number below and enjoy!
